⚠️ WINIX'S OWN TWO PAGES DISAGREE ABOUT THIS FILTER, AND WE MEASURED THE DISAGREEMENT RATHER THAN GUESSING AT IT.

This filter's page says, twice: "Compatible with Winix air cleaner model C610 and C710" and "The genuine Winix Filter Z is compatible with Winix Air Purifier unit C610." The AT40 is not mentioned anywhere on it.

The AT40's product page, meanwhile, offers this filter as its replacement. We checked how firmly: on that page the code 1712-0121-00 appears ten times, while every other Winix filter code appears exactly nine — nine being the generic "shop the collection" strip that sits on every page of the site. So the designation is real, but it rests on a single extra mention. For contrast, on the Tower XQ's page its own Filter X code appears nineteen times against nine. That is what a confident pairing looks like, and this is not it.

WHAT WE CAN AND CANNOT TELL YOU. Winix describes the AT40, the C610 and the C710 all as "360° All-in-One" machines, which would be consistent with a shared canister. But the three are not the same machine — AHAM measures the AT40 at 265 cfm smoke across 410 sq ft and the C610 at 248 across 384 — and Winix does not state that the canister is shared.

THE CHECK: if you have an AT40, do not order from this page on the strength of the machine page alone. Ask Winix, or match the code printed on the canister already in your unit. If you have a C610 or C710, this page names your machine and there is nothing to resolve.

Winix's description: "The True HEPA Filter captures 99.99%* of particles and impurities as small as 0.01 microns… The Activated Carbon Filter uses an activated carbon coating to reduce large amounts of odor in the environment." A fine mesh pre-filter forms the outer layer.

Winix attaches a report number to its efficiency claim, which is more than most: KCL independent report CT24-046161K, under SPS-KACA 002-132:2022 Modified.

One canister means one clock and one purchase. It also means you replace the carbon and the HEPA together whether or not both are spent.

How often to change it

Twelve months. Winix's wording: "Genuine Winix one year replacement filter set. For optimal performance, it is recommended to change the All-in-one True HEPA Canister Filter once every 12 months."
