"SERIES" IS DOING A LOT OF WORK IN THAT SENTENCE, AND ON THIS BRAND IT HAS CAUSED PROBLEMS BEFORE.

The compatibility line reads "Created Exclusively for Vital 200S-P Series". Levoit uses that same "series" construction across its range while selling by individual model, and in this catalogue we have already documented where that goes wrong: on the Core Mini, Levoit sells one filter for the Mini and a different one for the Mini-P, both described as being for the "series".

Two things about that. It is not stated on the purifier's page at all, so if you go looking where you would expect to find it, you will not. And a six-to-twelve month range is wide enough to be nearly two different answers — at one end you buy one a year, at the other you buy two.

For comparison inside the same brand: Levoit states 6–12 months for the Vital 100S-P, 6–8 for the Vital 100, 6–8 for the Core 200S, and nothing at all for the Core 400S and Core Mini. The intervals are not consistent across the range, so do not carry one model's figure to another.

Genuine vs third-party filters

Levoit states a position here, and it is about its own counter rather than about third-party quality: "Levoit's Filter Life Indicator and built-in algorithm only work with authentic filters. Using non-genuine filters may lead to delayed replacement reminders, lower air quality, and potential motor damage."

Read that for what it says. The first clause is a factual claim about the indicator, and it is plausible on its face — an algorithm keyed to a known part cannot account for an unknown one. The rest is a statement of risk rather than of warranty consequence: Levoit does not say here that fitting a third-party filter voids anything.

That is Levoit’s stated position, reported as theirs. We have not tested third-party filters and make no claim about how well they work.
